The Online Competition will take place on 27-30 December, 2023. The registration is now open. Students can register themselves and they do not need to register through the school.

Please register now and you will receive access to the test on the 27th of December, 2023.

The online exam will have 50 questions which must be answered within 30 minutes.

WHAT'S NEW IN THE BBB?

The British Brain Bee 2024 competition will include only 2 rounds:

  • Online British Brain Bee competition (anyone can participate)
  • National British Brain Bee competition – (Top 50 will be invited to participate in a live event in London at the Brunel University)

The winner of the National British Brain Bee competition will be invited to represent the UK in the International Brain Bee 2024.

HOW TO PREPARE?

The recommended textbooks can be accessed here.

All the questions of the online competition will be drawn from Neuroscience: Science of the Brain (no questions will come from chapters 16 Artificial Brains and Neural Networks and 18 Neuroethics) and Brain Facts book.

For the national competition, the questions will come from Neuroscience: Science of the Brain ((no questions will come from chapters 16 Artificial Brains and Neural Networks and 18 Neuroethics)Brain Facts book released by the Society for Neurosciences and Essential Neuroscience by Siegel.

NATIONAL BRAIN BEE 2024

The National Brain Bee 2024 competition will be hosted live on February 3, 2024 at Brunel University, London. The competition will include 4 parts:

  • MCQ test 
    • Around 30 multiple choice questions which students will have to answer on Google forms
  • Patient diagnosis (you will be presented videos with patients and you will have to diagnose the condition).
    • The list of possible disorders can be downloaded from here under “Patient diagnosis”
    • The exam will involve 8-10 patient cases
  • Neuroanatomy and Neurohistology (you will be given around 20 structures to identify from the Powerpoint with real brain and spinal cord specimens)

  • Live Q&A
    • Only Top 10 best performers form previous parts will be invited to answer questions live.
    • This section will be open to the public.
