REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN
REGISTER NOW FOR BRITISH BRAIN BEE 2021

The Online Competition will take place between the 15th of December, 2020 and 15th of January, 2021. The registration is now open. Students can register themselves and they do not need to register through the school.

Please register now and you will receive access to the test within 24-48 hrs. You can complete the test anytime before the 15th of January, 2021! The registration form can be accessed here or below.

The online exam will have 50 questions which must be answered within 30 minutes.

NATIONAL BRAIN BEE    May, 2021 (depending on the Covid situation the competition may be online via Zoom)

WHAT'S NEW IN THE BBB 2021?

The British Brain Bee 2021 competition will be made of 3 rounds:

  • Online British Brain Bee competition – December 2020-January 2021
  • Regional British Brain Bee competition – 20 March 2021 during the Brain Awareness Week
  • National British Brain Bee competition – May 2021

All events are planned to be virtual (online).

HOW TO PREPARE?

The recommended textbooks can be accessed here.

All the questions of the regional competition will be drawn from Neuroscience: Science of the Brain (no questions will come from chapters 16 Artificial Brains and Neural Networks and 18 Neuroethics) and Brain Facts book.

For the national competition, the questions will come from Neuroscience: Science of the Brain ((no questions will come from chapters 16 Artificial Brains and Neural Networks and 18 Neuroethics)Brain Facts book released by the Society for Neurosciences and Neuroscience: Exploring the Brain (Bear, Connors & Paradiso), especially Chapters 7, 7a, 15, and 22.

REGIONAL BRAIN BEE 2021

The Regional Brain Bee 2021 competition will be hosted online. Students from around the UK will be divided into 3 groups, each of around 30 students. The competition will include 4 parts:

  • MCQ test 
  • Patient diagnosis (you will be presented videos with patients and you will have to diagnose the condition).
    • The list of possible disorders can be downloaded from here under “Patient diagnosis”
  • Neuroanatomy and Neurohistology (you will be given around 20 structures to identify from the powerpoint with real brain and spinal cord specimens)

  • Live Q&A
    • Only Top 10 best performers form previous parts will be invited to answer questions live.
